Opportunities for students and graduates

Would you like to gain insights and make contacts early on for your future career? At Wilo, we offer entry-level opportunities that can form a pathway: start with an internship, go on to work as a student employee, then write your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis with us.

Internship

Your first step. Start out with an internship and gain valuable insights into the working environment of an innovative company. You will work on your first projects and put your theoretical knowledge into practice.

Student employee position

Consolidate what you have learnt. Build on the experience you gained during your internship and work on challenging projects as a working student.

Thesis

Bring your studies to a close in partnership with Wilo: choose an interesting topic with a practical focus for your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis in consultation with our specialist departments. Benefit from the support of experienced experts while writing your thesis.

*Of course, you can also join us directly as a working student and complete your internship with us at a later date, for instance. A prior work internship or working student position is recommended for writing a thesis. This allows you to gain an understanding of our business processes and acquire in-depth specialist knowledge. Accordingly, we rarely advertise thesis topics externally.

Wilo Graduate Programme

Finished your degree and looking to kick-start your career – with space to learn, experiment and grow? Then our Wilo Graduate Programme is right for you.

Over 24 months, you will get to know Wilo step by step, gain experience in various departments and further develop the skills you will need for potential future roles at Wilo. You will get off to a flexible start, with personalised onboarding and close support from day one.

Assignments across different areas

As part of the programme, you will undertake a number of predefined assignments in different areas of the organisation. These are carefully selected and offer you insights into structures, processes and business contexts. You will take responsibility at an early stage and contribute to relevant projects. One assignment will take you to another European country and give you the opportunity to gain experience abroad.

Learning and development

Your professional and personal development is a key part of the programme. Instead of a rigid training programme, we will work with you to design your own personalised learning journey. To begin with, we will collaborate on your development plan, which will guide you through the programme. Professional and personal mentoring support will help you with this. There is a structured feedback session after each stage, so you know where you stand and what the next steps are.

Community and networking

With our ‘Wilo Graduate Programme’, you will be well connected from day one: you will work closely with colleagues in the various departments, build a strong network early on and get to know senior managers and key stakeholders.

What happens after the programme?

Towards the end of the programme, we will discuss potential future roles, depending on your development and the opportunities available within the company. Whether in a specialist role or with initial management responsibility – this will be based on your development and the opportunities within the company.

School and taster internships at Wilo

What we offer you

Modern working equipment

All commercial apprentices and students on dual study programmes get their own laptop and headset during onboarding.

Work training and preparation for exams

Work training at Wilo will benefit your performance at vocational training college and systematically prepare you for exams. We have come up with a modern apprentice workshop where theory can be put into practice under the supervision of instructors.

Trainings and projects

In addition to regular product training, we offer training courses to further your personal and social skills. Apprentices and students on dual study programmes can also work on projects in interdisciplinary teams to consolidate what they have learnt.

What exactly does the application process involve?

1. Application

If you would like to apply for one of our exciting roles, you are always welcome to send us your application. Alternatively, you can also submit a speculative application if there are no suitable vacancies advertised. Once you have submitted your application, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt. This way, you can be sure that we have received your documents and we will include them in our recruitment process.

2. Reviewing your application

As soon as we have received your documents, they will be carefully reviewed by our recruitment team and the relevant department. We take our time to look at everything and assess whether your qualifications and personality might make you a good fit for us. We will let you know about the next step in the application process as soon as possible and inform you whether we will be inviting you to an initial interview.

3. Initial interview

We would like to find out more about you and your expertise in an initial virtual interview. We would also like to take the opportunity to tell you more about us and the role.

4. Second interview

If the initial interview was successful and we have managed to spark your interest in the role and in us as a new employer, we invite you to an interview in person.

5. Employment contract

If the second interview proves successful for both you and us, we will offer you an employment contract. We would then be delighted to welcome you as a new colleague.
