Together with strong partners from academia, industry, and infrastructure, we are creating a network that combines innovation, digitalization, and environmental responsibility. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, new perspectives emerge for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in the water sector.

The Technical University Dortmund has developed a distinctive profile since its foundation more than 50 years ago. With 17 faculties spanning natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and cultural studies, it combines academic excellence with interdisciplinary collaboration.

With approximately 29,500 students and 6,600 employees, the TU Dortmund is one of Germany’s major technical universities. Its academic portfolio includes around 90 degree programs, ranging from traditional disciplines to innovative fields of the future.

The university is known for its strong interdisciplinary approach, close cooperation with industry, and commitment to technological advancement. Thanks to this close collaboration, students can participate in credit-bearing modular courses. Another highlight is a series of guest lectures delivered by Wilo experts on topics related to AI-powered applications in the water industry. As a result, the TU Dortmund is an important partner of the Wilo Global WATER AI Academy in both research and the education of future water industry specialists.

The Connected Systems Institute (CSI) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a public-private partnership consortium with mission to enable the future workforce in manufacturing. The CSI brings its mission to life with strategic investments in educational programming, industry-directed research with focus on advanced manufacturing, and with peer-to-peer learning events chartered to rapidly upskill manufacturing and technology companies through sharing of pre-competitive knowledge.

A founding member of Université PSL, Mines Paris – PSL is a leading French engineering school, and the leader in research partnerships. As part of its strategic plan, the Mines Paris - PSL aims to be the leading institute in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, the energy transition and materials for more resource-efficient technologies, as well as mathematics and digital engineering for the transformation of industries.

The EUREF Talent Campus stands for innovation, sustainability, and the development of intelligent future technologies across Europe. As a platform for companies, academic institutions, and start-ups, EUREF connects stakeholders from the fields of energy, mobility, digitalization, and infrastructure.

With its strong focus on sustainable transformation and practice-oriented innovation projects, EUREF provides an ideal environment for interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of knowledge between business, research, and technology.

Together with the Wilo Group, students at the EUREF Talent Campus can attend credit-bearing modular courses as well as various masterclasses led by Wilo experts. Through this close collaboration, the Wilo Global WATER AI Academy has become an integral part of many students’ academic curricula.

Particularly in the fields of Data Science, Engineering, and sustainable technologies, Heriot-Watt University advances innovative research approaches and collaborates closely with international industry partners.

CEW is the Centre of Expertise on Water Technology and one of the managing partners of the WaterCampus in Leeuwarden. CEW does applied research projects and helps companies to speed up their innovation process by offering them researchers, lab facilities and demo sites. CEW has a close connection to the lectors in the field of water technology of the Universities of Applied Science of Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein and NHL Stenden.

CEW offers work experience places to students, offers a ‘curriculum continuum’ on water technology, together with the other WaterCampus parties. All the activities of CEW aim to contribute to solving water shortages, stimulate the re-use of water and recovery of nutrients and use water as an energy source for a more sustainable future.
