Promoting the health of our employees

As a company, we are committed to promote the health of our employees.

We are committed to safe AI and empower our employees to use it responsibly.

Health is an important basis for enabling people to contribute their capabilities over the long term and to feel comfortable and safe in their working environment. In a changing world of work, this includes not only protection against work-related risks, but also prevention, physical activity, ergonomic working conditions, and a conscious approach to mental health.

Wilo therefore understands health promotion as the interaction of different measures and services. From occupational safety measures to flexible working models and from medical care to prevention, we create framework conditions intended to support employees in keeping their health in focus during everyday work.

Occupational safety and ergonomics in everyday work

Safety and ergonomics are important components of healthy workplace design. In production, logistics, offices, and service, clear requirements and processes therefore apply that are designed to identify risks at an early stage and reduce strain in everyday work wherever possible.

International occupational safety standards, regular training, and continuous improvement processes provide an important framework for this. In addition, workplaces are designed ergonomically and technical aids are used where they can support employees in their tasks.

Practical example: Digital worker guidance

Digital support can help make work processes clearer and easier to understand. In production, digital worker guidance supports employees with step-by-step and intuitively structured instructions directly at the workplace.

Relevant work steps are presented in a structured way and can therefore be followed more easily. At the same time, information on assembly and testing processes is made available directly where it is needed. The example shows how digital technologies can support work processes and help connect orientation, quality, and occupational safety.

Prevention as part of a holistic approach to health

Health promotion does not begin only when symptoms arise. Preventive services can help address health issues at an early stage, provide knowledge, and promote a conscious approach to physical and mental strain.

For this reason, Wilo’s health offering includes not only traditional occupational safety measures, but also services relating to physical activity, preventive care, and health literacy. Different needs resulting from working conditions, life situations, and individual requirements are taken into account. This creates a broad approach that sees prevention as a fixed part of the working environment.

Flexible working models for different life situations

Working life and personal life situations change over time. Depending on the role and the site, flexible working models can help reconcile different requirements more effectively.

Wilo creates framework conditions for this, including flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements where these are compatible with the respective tasks. Family-friendly structures can also help combine professional and personal commitments more effectively.

In this way, flexibility becomes part of a working environment that takes different life situations into account and gives employees greater scope to shape their work.

Supporting mental health

Health includes both physical and mental well-being. Work intensity, change, new technologies, or personal burdens can alter the demands placed on employees.

A responsible health culture therefore also creates space for addressing mental health. Information, preventive services, and suitable support options can help address strain at an early stage and strengthen health literacy.

What is important here is a working environment in which mental health can be discussed openly and support is accessible.

Health Cube at Wilopark

With the Health Cube at Wilopark in Dortmund, Wilo brings together various services relating to health and prevention at one central location.

The health center combines medical care with diagnostics, therapy, physiotherapy, and services for training and prevention. In addition, mental health services and digital services are available.

This creates a health offering that brings together different aspects and provides employees with low-threshold access to a range of services.

The Health Cube is one example of the Wilo Group’s holistic approach. Health is not reduced to occupational safety or individual preventive measures, but is addressed across different areas of life and work.

In addition to being used by employees and their family members, the Health Cube has also been made partially accessible to the public. Independent physicians and preventive courses can also be used by people from the wider region. In this way, the Wilo Group is expanding its health offering at the Dortmund site for employees while also making selected services accessible to people in the region.

Supporting health through digital services

Technology creates access

Digitalization and AI also create new opportunities for health services. Digital services can make information easier to access, complement existing offerings, and support flexible use.

The focus is not on the technology itself, but on its practical benefit for employees. Digital applications can, for example, help make information and certain health services accessible regardless of time and place.

Keeping health in focus over the long term

The health of employees is an important part of responsible corporate management. Through occupational safety measures and ergonomic workplaces, preventive and curative services, flexible working models, as well as medical and digital support services, Wilo creates framework conditions intended to support physical and mental health.
