As an internationally active company, we consider the effects of our own actions – on resources and climate, as well as on our employees, our supply chains, and our corporate culture.
The impact area Caring describes selected topics in which we assume responsibility within our company and along our value chain. This includes examining emissions and resource consumption, establishing responsible standards, and shaping a working environment in which different perspectives have their place. In the use of artificial intelligence, we also follow a responsible and human-centered approach based on defined IT, security, and governance requirements.

Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions
Energy is needed at our sites for a wide range of processes. At the same time, the question of how energy is generated, used, and managed plays an important role in our own operations.
At selected sites, we digitally capture energy flows, analyze consumption data, and work on managing energy use more specifically. In addition, we integrate renewable energy into site supply and take the development of our greenhouse gas emissions into account.
Cutting down on resource consumption and upholding human rights throughout our supply chains
Our value creation is developed together with numerous suppliers and partners. As a result, our responsibility extends beyond our own sites. Transparency regarding processes, materials, and risks based on defined criteria is an important basis for identifying opportunities for improvement and developing appropriate measures.
We create transparency regarding our resource consumption, capture and assess defined supply chain risks based on established criteria, and work together with our suppliers on the further development of defined requirements. In doing so, we take human rights risks along our supply chains into account.
Strengthening a values-based corporate culture
The way we work together, make decisions, and assume responsibility shapes our company. Shared values provide orientation and create a framework for collaboration and leadership across countries and functions.

Encouraging diversity within our workforce
Different experiences, perspectives, and competencies shape our international working environment. Diversity is reflected not only in different backgrounds, but also in the individual experiences and points of view of our employees.
We work with transparent processes and objective criteria, thereby creating understandable framework conditions for our employees. We publish defined workforce indicators in established reporting cycles.
Promoting the health of our employees
Health is an important prerequisite for a safe and health-supporting working environment. In this context, we consider both physical and mental health and take into account the different requirements of our employees and workplaces.
Through selected preventive and curative measures, we offer support to our employees in maintaining and promoting their physical and mental health. Our approach includes both preventive measures and offers that provide support in specific situations where needed.
Embracing human-centeric AI
Artificial intelligence creates new opportunities for work processes, decision-making, and collaboration. At the same time, these opportunities also raise new questions and responsibilities, especially where people work with AI systems or are affected by their results.
When using AI, we take defined IT security and governance requirements into account and provide appropriate training to enable our employees to use these technologies in a competent and conscious way. People remain at the center of this approach: in selected use cases, AI is intended to support employees and provide additional analysis and assistance functions without losing sight of human responsibility.
