Wilo’s aim is to tackle global challenges such as energy and water scarcity in the fields of water and building infrastructure. This strategy is also reflected in sport, where peak performance and stamina are crucial. Whether it is hockey, basketball or rowing – perseverance and dedication are key to success, both in competition and when implementing climate, water and social projects, such as the Riveredge Project in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks
As the Milwaukee Bucks’ first official global sustainability partner, Wilo is committed to developing new projects together. By their own account, the Bucks, an NBA team with a rich tradition, are committed to education and the environment, both on the court and in the community. Their home arena, the Fiserv Forum, reflects their connection to the Wilo Group, which provides the water supply.
Although Dortmund and Milwaukee are in different parts of the world, they share a rich industrial history and a passion for sport. This partnership is more than just a collaboration. Discover how sport and technology work together in environmental and social projects.
Team German men's eight
Wilo is proud to have been the main sponsor of the German national rowing eight since 2010. This partnership has proved to be an ongoing success story, shaped by a shared commitment to peak performance and a passion for water as an element. Our partnership is a unique combination of tradition and shared values.
We do not just accompany the athletes on their sporting journey – we also support them with their career development. Through apprenticeships, internships and working student positions, as well as PhD scholarships from the Wilo-Foundation, we offer them opportunities for a career after sport.
In addition to the German Men's Eight, we also support the coxless pair and coxless four. Together, we have played an active part in shaping the latest championships and the transition process, and we look to the future with confidence. Former rowers who are now part of our workforce bring their experience from competitive sport to our corporate culture and help strengthen our shared goals.
German Hockey Federation
Hockey is one of Germany’s most successful team sports and a sport that is gaining in global importance. As a global sustainability partner of the German Hockey Federation (DHB), Wilo has promoted the sport’s development since 2026 and supports future initiatives on and off the pitch.
The partnership reflects shared values: team spirit, international cooperation and a long-term perspective. Wilo and the DHB are working together to promote hockey’s long-term development as a sport and raise its profile worldwide.
Local sponsorships
Alongside our global sponsorship initiatives, Wilo is also actively involved in numerous local sports sponsorships. This has resulted in a diverse pool of outstanding teams with whom we support selected environmental and social projects.
Our local sponsoring partnerships include teams big and small from a range of sports, with which Wilo collaborates according to our own selection criteria. Our partnerships include the Leicester Tigers rugby team in England and the Växjö Lakers, an ice hockey team from Sweden.
